Yahoo! Launches Futher Facebook Integration

Internet Giant Yahoo! is soon set to launch a new series of features which integrate Yahoo.com and Yahoo! Mail further with the social media phenomenon Facebook.

This new array of internet services will encourage Yahoo! users to post actions taken on a variety of Yahoo! sites and associated services - such as Flickr - onto their Facebook profiles.

The Wall Street Journal recently reported that Yahoo! will also upgrade its Yahoo! Profiles service to include tabs for various other social networks and internet services.

Under the new name of “Yahoo! Pulse” users who have signed up will be able to switch between networks and access updates from their Yahoo! and Facebook profiles.

Ethan Beard (Yahoo’s Director of the Facebook Development Network) said: "By integrating with Facebook on a global scale, Yahoo! is building upon an already valuable brand to give people easy ways to share the content they enjoy on Yahoo! with their friends on Facebook."

These features are strengthening the partnership between Yahoo! and Facebook which launched in December 2009 - This is all part of Yahoo's latest push to exploit social media in a bid to step up to competition from internet giant Google and Microsoft Bing.
