The Online video advertising world is booming, with more and more major news websites giving increasingly prominent position to video bulletins that generate advertising revenue – more and more News Web sites are starting to look a lot less like newspapers and a lot more like television.
In a recent press release from The New York Times they report that increasing numbers of internet users are seeking out news stories in the form of streaming videos, which can include external advertising content.
Online video is now the fastest growing sector in internet marketing, with the IAB (internet advertising bureau) revealing that digital video generated more than $470 million in the first half of this year – that’s a staggering 38% increase over last year.
Also, figures published by comScore indicate that major news websites attract more than one million users every month and the more popular news stories present a major opportunity for advertisers.
