Google wins award for best brand at T3!
Hosted by radio personality Johnny Vaughan & run by the same publishers of TechRadar, the T3 Awards were bigger than ever this year, with a whole host of celebrities turning up to the event to see which gadgets won on the night.
T3 commented on Google’s success over the past year on their website, stating that Google "had arguably its highest profile year ever”. T3 also made emphasis on the firms profit increase of 18% over last year, which has leaded it to make a total of 1.11 billion in 2009.
T3 then went on to comment on some of the firms achievements over the past financial year, “Its search engine saw off Microsoft's Bing," the T3 states, before continuing: "The Android mobile operating system (OS) appeared in the Motorola DEXT and HTC Hero among others, and it's off to conquer the netbook market next." The Android operating system was also acknowledged as the ‘launch of the year’.
Other award winners included Apple which saw the latest version of their iPhone, the 3GS, win the award for the commuter gadget of 2009 and also the award for the gadget consumers cannot live without. The newly launched Spotify music service picked up the award for innovation of 2009, the music service was commented to have “a superb interface, massive tune selection and seamlessly smooth, high-fidelity music streaming".
